Atlanta, Georgia – July 10, 2025 – Nate Jester, a Marine Corps veteran, Harvard-educated attorney, small business owner and Southwest Atlanta native announced today his campaign for Atlanta City Council District 11 raised over 116,000 dollars in its first two months powered by over 300 individual contributors. A proud product of Atlanta Public Schools, Jester is a Mays High graduate who launched his campaign to bring bold, new, accountable leadership to District 11. His early fundraising success follows major endorsements from New Politics and VoteVets, national organizations that back service-driven leaders who put community first. “I am excited about the momentum this campaign is attracting at this early stage. It indicates Southwest Atlanta is ready for leadership that listens and takes action and the energy behind this campaign proves it,” said Jester. “I am humbled by every contribution because I know how hard folks work for their money. Jester’s campaign emphasizes responsive leadership, transparency, community engagement and practical solutions to local challenges. His platform focuses on affordable housing, support for small businesses, youth programs, education and public safety initiatives. He is executing a door to door effort that engages residents to develop policies that reflect the needs and aspirations of District 11 to address underinvestment in the community, prioritize safer streets, advocate for stronger city services and affordable housing that keeps residents rooted in their neighborhoods.

About Nate Jester:
Nate Jester is a proud native of Southwest Atlanta, Atlanta Public Schools Mays High graduate, a Marine Corps veteran and graduate of Harvard Law School. He was nominated by Congressman John Lewis to represent Southwest Atlanta at the U.S. Naval Academy where he graduated in the top 5% of his class. He later served as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps before earning his law degree from Harvard where he completed over 1,000 hours of pro bono work and was recognized for his community leadership.
