The Ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., Founded November 12, 1922, Is Celebrating 100 Years!
Founded by seven educators, the organization’s focus on community service is an essential part of the organization’s work. Some of the sorority’s initiatives are Operation BigBookBag, Women’s Wellness Initiative, Swim 1922, Project Cradle Care, and Youth Symposium.
Here in Atlanta, The Exceptional Epsilon Eta Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. at Spelman College is excited to return to campus after summer break to continue the work of their founders this centennial year.
Chartered on January 2, 1979, The Epsilon Eta Chapter was the first on Spelman’s campus to officially charter a sorority chapter. Epsilon Eta’s goal is to touch and improve people’s lives more completely through scholarship, sisterhood, and service. The chapter’s purpose is to be a source of light for Spelman sisters and to increase their presence on campus through community service.
With aspirations of being doctors, educators, attorneys, and musicians, just to name a few, the members’ of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., at Spelman College are excited to witness the elevation of their sorority, and look forward to celebrating this “Golden Year” while promoting their mission of Greater Service, Greater Progress.”
