Atlanta, GA – ModivCare Inc. (“ModivCare” or the “Company”), a technology-enabled healthcare services company that provides a suite of integrated supportive care solutions focused on improving patient outcomes, has provided InspirEDU, an education nonprofit providing technology devices and training to marginalized youth, with a $1,500 donation to support distance learning due to COVID-19.
According to Richard Hicks, CEO of InspirEDU, “As COVID-19 has upended education, it has highlighted the urgent need for home learning centers for high-need students and families in Greater Atlanta. As schools have shifted to distance learning, more than 20 percent of Greater Atlanta’s students are denied their education because they have no device and no internet access.”
ModivCare’s donation provides authentic Microsoft software that will be preloaded onto laptops, for use by students. In addition, students and their families receive digital training to maximize using the devices. InspirEDU’s Family Learning Workshops provide digital tools and training to create a successful learning environment at home for academic success and career readiness.
“In these uncertain times, schools have reached out to us with urgent pleas for devices and InspirEDU’s commitment to our community requires that we answer the call so that no child is left behind,” said Hicks. “We are grateful to corporate partners like ModivCare for their important donation so we can provide digital tools and essential training to both students and caregivers in order to create a successful learning environment at home.”
“ModivCare is proud of its role in helping to eliminate barriers to education, and to support families with online learning as best as possible during these uncertain times,” said Daniel Greenleaf, President and CEO of ModivCare. “We’re pleased to support InspirEDU with this donation to help facilitate online learning for students in need.”
