Inquirer‘s Sparkling Specialties Columnist Celebrates 93 Years

Sunday, September 11, 2022 was a special day of joy and happiness and memories for Mrs. M. Paulyne Morgan White. White is The Atlanta Inquirer’s Society and Women’s Editor and Sparkling Specialties Columnist. “She has been a truly dedicated servant and member of the Inquirer family for approximately sixty years,” says Publisher John B. Smith, Jr.

Her birthday began as any of her usual Sundays, waking at 7 am to participate in 8:15 am engagements… virtual Big Bethel AME Sunday School and Prayer, then 10 am church worship service. She also tuned into other church services and “Next Shift” services at 1:30 – 2 pm, enjoying the next generation youth at her longtime church, Big Bethel AME.

As she celebrated her birthday on Sunday, September 11, 2022, her daughter, Reverend Lairalaine Morgan White, an Associate Minister at Big Bethel AME, arranged for family members, godchildren, church members sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., former students and friends to surprise Mrs. White with a visit at 12:30 pm. All sang “Happy Birthday” as they shared fond memories, gifts, flowers and congratulations.

The celebration continued throughout the week with lunches, gifts and car rides to see the city and new community growth.
