At a community meet-and-greet, on Sunday, March 22, 2026, regarding political involvement, Darris Rollins stated, “Voting is one important thing, but I wanted to do something more and take service to a different level. I wanted to get off of the couch, NextDoor and social media and throw my hat in the ring to really make a difference and affect legacy, children and grandchildren.”
“Economic development is not just bringing amenities to South Fulton; it is also about retaining the local entrepreneur,” Rollins continued.
A Special Election will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, to fill the unexpired term of former Councilmember Helen Z. Willis. Darris Rollins is a candidate for that seat.
Darris Rollins, a voice for the South Fulton community, is a leader committed to stronger neighborhoods, better services, and a thriving future for our families.
He is committed to serving the residents of District 3 on the South Fulton City Council with dedication to transparency, accountability, and progress.
Rollins’s priorities are 1) Public Safety — ensuring our neighborhoods are safe and secure for all residents; 2) Economic Development — bringing jobs and opportunities to District 3 and South Fulton; 3) Infrastructure — improving roads, sidewalks, and public facilities throughout our district; and 4) Community Engagement — listening to residents and ensuring their voices are heard at City Hall.
His commitment to service began early with leadership training in the United States Marine Corps, where he learned that integrity, discipline, and teamwork are not just values — they are responsibilities. Those principles have guided every step of his professional career and community involvement ever since.
Over the past two decades, Rollins has built a reputation as a trusted business leader known for bringing people together, solving complex challenges, and building partnerships that deliver real results. His work across telecommunications, education, government, nonprofit, and private sectors has allowed him to collaborate with college presidents, business executives, public officials, and community leaders to expand opportunities, grow organizations, and create sustainable success.
Rollins has long been deeply engaged in the civic life of the community he calls home. He understands that the City of South Fulton deserves thoughtful leadership and a strong foundation for growth. He continues to serve in key roles that strengthen the community from the inside out.
He has exemplified leadership in restorative justice and community accountability through his service on the Fulton County Restorative Justice Board and the Fulton County Citizens Panel Review. He strengthened the local business environment as president of the Camp Creek Business Association and contributed to economic growth initiatives through the City of South Fulton Downtown Development Authority.
Recognizing that the future of South Fulton depends on preparing the next generation, Rollins served as chair of the local board of directors for Atlanta Technical College, helping guide workforce development and educational pathways for students across the region.
His service extends into mentoring, youth programs, and faith-based leadership — from supporting small businesses through SCORE to serving as lay leader at Cascade United Methodist Church. He is also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., where he led voter registration initiatives to help ensure every voice is heard.
Today, Rollins continues to advocate for smart economic development, strong workforce pipelines, and responsible community growth through his involvement with the Georgia Economic Developers Association and regional economic initiatives.
At his core, Darris Rollins is a neighbor, mentor, and community partner who believes South Fulton’s greatest strength is its people. He knows families want safe neighborhoods, thriving local businesses, real job opportunities, transparent leadership, and a city government that works for everyone.
Darris believes the next chapter of South Fulton should be built on responsible growth, expanded economic opportunity, community trust, and leadership that shows up, listens, and delivers.
