Greenwood Whiskey Releases Celebratory Bottle for Juneteenth Holiday

Greenwood Whiskey, a premium Black-owned whiskey brand, has released a celebratory bottle of their award-winning flagship whiskey to recognize the Juneteenth holiday. The limited bottle release features artwork by Atlanta-based visual artist, Sway Jones and is available for purchase starting June 19 for $38.99 (SRP) at most metro Atlanta retailers or by visiting the brand’s site. Online purchases are restricted in AL, PA, DE, MS, OK, RI, and UT

The Greenwood Whiskey Juneteenth edition is embellished with colorful, decorative details and leaves. At the center of the artwork are a handful of Black figures dancing, which represents the celebration behind Juneteenth. Juneteenth National Independence Day is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States. As a Black-owned company, it was important for the founders to create a product that honors this significant holiday.

“Celebrating our culture and history has always been an inspiration for the Greenwood Whiskey brand,” said Kweillin “KG” Gordon, co-founder and CEO of Greenweed Whiskey. “There’s so much resilience in Black history and that deserves to be celebrated. We toast and raise our glasses to those who paved the way so we can have the opportunity to explore our own dreams, including entrepreneurship.”

The Greenwood Whiskey brand symbolizes a celebration of community, success, entrepreneurship, and excellence. These attributes were pillars of the historic Greenwood District neighborhood in Tulsa, Oklahoma – also known as, “Black Wall Street.” By 1921 the community of Greenwood was home to 600 Black-owned businesses. To pay their success forward Greenwood Whiskey donates a portion of all proceeds to charities that provide educational resources for young, diverse entrepreneurs.

A portion of the Greenwood Whiskey Juneteenth edition will be donated specifically to the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. To learn more about Greenwood Whiskey or the Greenwood Whiskey Juneteenth edition, visit www.greenwoodwhiskey.com.
