The week of May 10, leading up to the weekend of May 15, 2021, saw a lot of activities within the schools of the Atlanta University Center. For the schools, this was the first time that students, faculty, staff, family, and friends physically gathered together to celebrate commencement since the pandemic struck last year. There were those wearing face masks and many who did not wear them. Mandatory mask-wearing rules had been lifted, with some restrictions, which gave more flexibility to areas and places where people had options with wearing face masks. Clark Atlanta University and Morehouse College shared the same stage which was set up outside in the Harkness Hall Quadrangle on campus. Spelman College opted to have its graduation outside as well, at the Bobby Dodd Stadium on the Georgia Tech campus. All in all, it was a great time for celebration in The Atlanta University Center.
