Families lined up around the center for some Hosea Helps holiday cheer. Hundreds of bags of toys were distributed, and smiles were upon children’s faces yesterday at the Loudermilk Center. The Hosea Helps staff and its army of volunteers soldiered on to deliver food, toys, entertainment, face painting and lots of smiles. Food was cooked on site by Hosea Helps and many of these children came from families that come to the Hosea Family stabilization center every week. King, Jr. He had been a part of the Atlanta Inquirer family since its early beginnings and had written articles in the newspaper in the 1960s. At the time of his death, he was still a part of the Inquirer’s Advisory Council. Born on August 30, 1936, to Bertha Thrasher and Lonnie King in Arlington, Georgia, Lonnie C. John B. “J.B.” Smith, Sr. was born to the late John Watson Smith and the late Pressarene “Press” Whitfield Smith, the oldest of five children in LaGrange, Georgia. He was quite an ambitious young man and as the oldest, he was charged with caring for his siblings and family by chopping wood and shoveling coal to provide for this family.
