16 teen finalists from across the region will vie for the “Southeast Youth of the Year” and “Southeast Military Youth of the Year” titles, along with a $20,000 scholarship.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America invites local guests to celebrate remarkable teen candidates in competition for the Southeast Youth of the Year and Southeast Military Youth of the Year titles at the Georgia Aquarium on Wednesday, June 15.
The event will begin with a reception, at 6 P.M., followed by dinner and the awards program at 7 P.M.
For 75 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of America has recognized young people in its Youth of the Year premiere youth leadership program, honoring extraordinary young people in their achievements in leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle.
Emceed by five-time Emmy winning host of Entertainment Tonight, Nischelle Turner, the evening will kick off with a general reception, followed by dinner and celebration. Throughout the night guests can enjoy: a performance by teen performer, Mikquala of Cleveland Park Boys & Girls Clubs; empowering and memorable speeches from four remarkable teen representatives who will share their own personal Club experiences and vision for young people across the nation; two scholarship check presentations to YOY and Military YOY winners (to be awarded during the evening); interview opportunities with Jim Clark, president & CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of America; interview opportunities with Southeast Youth of the Year candidates and Club advisors.
