AT&T, Compudopt Provide 100 Laptops and Backpacks to Atlanta Students

Distribution part of employee effort to help bridge the digital divide and equip 20,000 students with laptops and supplies before they head back to school

AT&T* and Compudopt provided 1MO? with 100 refurbished laptops and backpacks stuffed with school supplies today to distribute to Atlanta youth and families.

This distribution is part of a broader AT&T employee effort to help bridge the digital divide and equip 20,000 students across the country with laptops and backpacks before they head back to school. In addition to supplies like notebooks, pencils and headphones, the backpacks included cards of encouragement written by AT&T employees.

“At 1MO?, our mission is to inspire, educate and empower at-risk youth by leading them to make positive life choices that enable them to reach their personal potential. With AT&T’s donation of laptops, we are not only providing essential digital tools but also reinforcing our commitment to guiding these young men toward brighter futures,” said Dr. Travis Barber, Founder and CEO, 1MO?. “These laptops will play a critical role in helping our students complete homework assignments, develop new skills and explore their passions. Together, we are providing equity of resources and closing opportunity gaps for our Atlanta youth.”

We appreciate AT&T for their commitment to advancing digital equity and supporting Atlanta’s future leaders.”

This effort is part of the AT&T Connected Learning® initiative to help address the digital divide through internet accessibility, affordability and safe adoption. AT&T is committing $5 billion to help 25 million people get and stay connected to high-speed internet by 2030.
