In celebration of those individuals who work tirelessly to improve lives throughout greater Atlanta, Carter Unlimited LLC is excited to shine a spotlight on these outstanding citizens and their organizations and bring awareness to their tremendous sacrifices and contributions.
The Rising in Community Excellence (RICE) Award is given to individuals who demonstrate keen awareness about community needs and step into the fray, lending a hand and making things better. These citizens have created organizations that serve metropolitan Atlanta.
RICE Award nominees are innovative and charitable visionaries who recognize the importance of their presence and contribution to the greater Atlanta community and beyond. Nominees were selected by a panel of industry professionals, community leaders and everyday citizens.
Each category is about a community leader who has used their position to develop or implement programs that have changed the face of our communities. The nominees are leaders who have used their position to develop and implement programs that have changed the face of our communities and helped people in innumerable ways.
The Carter Unlimited LLC mission for The RICE Awards and their Foundation is simple: “We honor the unsung heroes of the community.” These are 2021 categories in the following industries:

The Honorees are special because they have proven to be consistent trailblazers and visionaries in their areas:
- The TORCH Awards (6)
- The Dane Literacy Award (Top Educator)
The Atlanta Inquirer newspaper, along with other periodicals and publications, was nominated for the RICE Award under the category of Publication of the Year. The Inquirer needs its readers and the general public to go online and vote at http://www.TheRICEAwards.com/.
