Atlanta Financial Advisory Firm Hires New COO

Last year, women only held 21% of the C-suite roles in the financial services sector, but as leading wealth management firms continue to prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion, we expect to see that number rise.

Enter Atlanta-based wealth management firm Merit Financial Advisors, which announced today it has hired industry veteran Chrissy Lee as Chief Operating Officer, thus cementing their C Suite as two-thirds women. Merit specializes in wealth management solutions for high-net-worth individuals, families, and those navigating life transitions and is committed to increasing DEI in the industry as their firm expands rapidly nationwide.

With more than 15 years of wealth management and broker-dealer experience, Chrissy joins Merit from Asteria Wealth and Kalos Financial, where she was President and Chief Operating Officer. In her new role, she will be responsible for operational strategy, driving strategic growth through mergers and acquisitions, onboarding process and business development, technology implementations, and managing the day-to-day operations of the firm.

Some of Chrissy’s other accomplishments include:

  • Served on the board of directors at the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives where she worked on the advancement of initiatives in the financial industry.
  • Served on the Advisory Council of Docupace, a technology provider for wealth management firms to digitize data and increase efficiency.
  • Created the Women Advisor Network to support and recognize those that continue to push for positive change in the industry.
  • Served as a member on IPA’s Diversity and Inclusion committee as well as the Technology, Operations, and Innovation team.

Based in Atlanta and with experience in supervising 125+ financial advisors and a corporate team, Chrissy is poised to lead Merit’s team utilizing both her technological and operational knowledge and management experience.
