Dr. and Mrs. DeLutha (Lois) King are the latest victims to suffer demise to the COVID-19 pandemic. Retired physician Dr. DeLutha Porter Harold King, Jr. died on April 3, 2020 and his wife Lois Weaver King died on April 10, 2020 just after family members had buried the former King. Dr. King was a founder of the Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation of Georgia. Both were close friends of The Atlanta Inquirer family.
The two had been longtime Atlanta residents. Both had been residing at a local Assisted Living facility in Atlanta, Arbor Terrace in southwest Atlanta.
15 COVID-19 deaths have been reported at this facility since the COVID-19 outbreak which is approximately 79% of its residents.
