Wonderful Birthday Celebration Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic; 80th Birthday Celebration for Mrs. Barbara Black Coleman

80th Birthday Celebration for Mrs. Barbara Black Coleman

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and shelter-in-place ordinances, several families across our nation have put together birthday celebrations with proper social distancing standards.

On Saturday, May 9, 2020, family members of Mrs. Barbara Black Coleman of Jonesboro, Georgia had an 80th birthday celebration for her.

A parade of motorcycles, cars and emergency vehicles proceeded for Coleman, born on May 11, 1940.

Coleman worked for the Atlanta Police Department (APD) for about 13 years, with a total of about 20 years in various other positions with the City of Atlanta. She retired from the Fulton County Sheriff’s office.

Earlier this year, prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, family members had originally planned a birthday celebration at a restaurant in Atlanta; however, those plans had to change due to our current national status.

Daughters Julie and Yvette, other family members and friends quickly jumped into action and organized a wonderful procession.

Clayton County Police Department and Fire Department helped in the celebration and were a part of the procession.
