Writers and historians will tell future generations of the greatness of President Biden. They will lift up how he advanced the march of justice and democracy against great odds…They will analyze the meaning of Vice-President Harris in American history…They will not, hopefully, be blinded by prejudice, fear and half-truths.
Hopefully, writers, news organizations like the Washington Post and the L. A. Times will have regained their freedom and purpose (in my opinion) and courage. Then the nation and youth can breathe once more the purifying air of truth and courage.
In decades to come, I predict that future generations will see and appreciate how President Biden was profoundly committed to saving our democracy.
We should honor and salute President Biden. We should learn from what Vice-President Harris was able to do in 110 days! The President-elect will spend, I believe, much effort to persecute President Biden. I pray that democrats will not unintentionally aid him in such an inhumane process. It is my belief that democracy is not self-fulfilling; it requires disciples, apostles and witnesses. It requires citizens who are willing to struggle, serve and sacrifice from generation to generation.
President Biden was not able to correct all the imperfections and injustices of the past 248 years in the past four years – i.e., January, 2021 to January, 2025. But I believe history and the future will declare his accomplishments great by any just standard of measurement.
Look at the Biden-Harris Administration in the areas of:
- Economic Opportunity
- Small Business
- Housing
- Education
- Health
- Equity, Civil Rights, justice and equal opportunity.
- Voting Rights.
- Gun Violence.
The above initiatives do not cover Foreign Policy. The preservation and strengthening of NATO alone will have positive benefits, I believe, for years to come.
I believe the incoming administration will do everything in its’ power to destroy all the accomplishments and much more in the area of human service, human rights, civil rights and equity over the past seventy (70) years. I hope my belief is incorrect.
Let us pray for our nation and all peoples everywhere.
Let us pray for our brothers and sisters in Israel, Syria, Palestine, Ukraine, the entire Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and the world.
Let us reach out to our homeless sisters, brothers and children in our cities, towns and communities next door…persons we can see and touch daily if we only open our eyes, minds and heart.
If we do the above, we can sing together: “Glory to God in the highest.” Let there be on earth, in our towns, cities and neighborhoods, love, justice, liberation, goodwill and peace to all humanity. Let our living rooms be a Manger!
