Esteemed youth mentorship program, TreeHouse, is proud to announce its expansion into Georgia, with plans to launch 100 high school support groups in Atlanta by August 2029. TreeHouse has identified Atlanta as a city facing a youth crisis, with approximately 40% of young people feeling disconnected due to challenges such as poverty and a lack of mentorship and youth support programs.
With a proven track record of success in over 50 locations across the United States, TreeHouse is on a mission to end hopelessness among teens. The organization’s expansion into the southern region marks a significant step in its commitment to reaching and empowering young people nationwide.
Leading the charge in Georgia is newly appointed Area Director, Kandis Knight, an entertainment industry veteran and dedicated youth advocate. Knight’s passion for youth ministry and her firsthand experience with TreeHouse’s transformative impact on her own children fuel her belief in the program’s potential to address the urgent needs of Atlanta’s youth.
“The pandemic opened my eyes, and I felt called to focus on youth,” says Knight. “My children attended TreeHouse in Minneapolis and were transformed by the love and support they received. Recognizing that this was missing in Georgia, I believe God’s plan was to bring TreeHouse here to help our youth navigate these trying times.”
As TreeHouse celebrates 40 years of service, its expansion into Atlanta signifies a renewed commitment to providing a nurturing and supportive environment where young people can thrive. Through mentorship, guidance, and a range of enriching programs, TreeHouse empowers youth to unleash their full potential and become leaders in their communities.
