AQuAA Announces Season Preview to Showcase Upcoming LGBTQ+ Arts Community Events

The Atlanta Queer Arts Alliance (AQuAA) is set to host its inaugural Season Preview on September 4 at the Out Front Theatre, promising an evening filled with creativity, inclusivity, and powerful performances from the city’s vibrant LGBTQ+ arts community. The event will begin at 7:30 pm and is open to all—LGBTQ+ individuals, allies, and art lovers alike.

Founded in late 2018, AQuAA was established to advocate for and elevate Atlanta’s queer arts organizations. The alliance aims to raise awareness of the rich tapestry of talent within the community, uniting influential members such as the Atlanta Philharmonic Orchestra, Out Front Theatre Company, Southern Fried Queer Pride, Atlanta Freedom Bands, Voices of Note, Out on Film, and OurSong. Each organization plays a crucial role in enhancing Atlanta’s cultural landscape, and the Season Preview will showcase their unique contributions.

“This event is a testament to the resilience and creativity of the queer community,” said David Arilio, AQuAA President. “By attending, you’re not only witnessing powerful performances but also supporting a movement that uplifts voices, fosters inclusivity, and redefines what it means to belong in the arts.”

Attendees can expect a diverse lineup of performances that reflect the unity and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. Our Song Atlanta will take the stage with a captivating choral performance, while Voices of Note will present emotionally stirring pieces from the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus and Atlanta Women’s Chorus. Out Front Theatre Company will offer an exclusive preview of its bold theatrical productions that delve into LGBTQ+ narratives.

The Atlanta Freedom Bands will electrify the audience with a dynamic musical display, showcasing the vibrant sounds of their French horns. Southern Fried Queer Pride will provide a glimpse into their unique and thought-provoking programming, celebrating queer joy and resilience. Additionally, the Atlanta Philharmonic Orchestra will highlight the beauty of inclusivity through their performance, reflecting their unwavering commitment to LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. Out on Film will also present a sneak peek into their compelling cinematic offerings that explore and celebrate LGBTQ+ narratives through the lens of independent film.

This one-of-a-kind preview event will give attendees an exclusive glimpse into the upcoming season, with each member of AQuAA unveiling the artistic wonders they have in store. Whether you’re a theatre enthusiast, a music lover, or simply a supporter of the arts, this night will offer something truly special for everyone.

Tickets for the event are available for $10, and attendees are encouraged to register in advance. The Out Front Theatre is located at 999 Brady Avenue NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30318.

As the LGBTQ+ arts community continues to thrive in Atlanta, the AQuAA Season Preview serves as a reminder of the importance of inclusivity and representation in the arts.
