ATLANTA —Today, the Working Families Party announced its endorsement of Kamala Harris in the presidential election.
The party’s members and delegates voted overwhelmingly to support Kamala Harris as the next Democratic nominee — with 95% of the total vote in favor of endorsement.
As Vice President, Kamala Harris has played a decisive role in President Biden’s signature victories, casting the tie-breaking vote to pass the landmark Inflation Reduction Act and presiding over the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Kentanji Brown Jackson.
“We’re thrilled to endorse Kamala Harris for President,” said Britney Whaley, Southeast Regional Director of the Working Families Party. “President Biden and Vice President Harris have fought to lower costs for working people and make deep investments in our communities through the Inflation Reduction Act, eliminating student debt for thousands, and placing a cap on the costs for insulin for those who need it most. Now, Vice President Harris has the chance to build on those successes. Voting for Harris is how Georgians can reject Trump and his MAGA agenda, while demonstrating their support for women’s rights and higher taxes on the ultra-rich. She will fight for working families in Georgia and across our nation.”
