DeKalb County court employee Rushia Lavae Johnson Stevens, 65, dies on March 19, 2020 after seeking medical attention. She is one of the latest casualties of COVID-19. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a wonderful musician. A Morris Brown College graduate, she had taught music for years.
Family members are noted as saying that Rushia Stevens had no compromising health issues.
Rushia grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and is noted as being one of the first Black students at Northside High School (now called North Atlanta High School). Her father was noted musician and band leader of Morris Brown College of Atlanta.
Considering the pandemic, the funeral will be live-streamed on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 1:00 pm (Eastern Time) via Facebook… Murray Brothers Funeral Home – Cascade (in Atlanta, Georgia).
