WHO: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority/Stay Well Health Fair and Vaccine event is designed to bring health related resources to Black communities. The W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute has partnered with local health agencies and community-based organizations in select cities to continue to educate Black communities, while making COVID-19 vaccination resources more accessible.
WHAT: W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute will partner with the South Atlantic Regional Conference of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® to co-host The Atlanta Community Stay Well vaccine event. To date, variations of these pop-up events have been attended by more than 3,000 people, 1,000 of whom decided to get their vaccines and boosters. Public health experts are saying that despite encouraging trends, infections in Georgia could climb again because of BA.2, a subvariant gaining traction in the area and around the country. The urgency of vaccines and boosters is now on high alert throughout the Atlanta community.
