New Romantic Thriller Brings National Topics to Light with a Powerful and Diverse Creative Team at the 11th Annual BronzeLens Film Festival

No Ordinary Love Has Been Selected  as 1 of 3  Feature Films to Snag a Spot in one of Atlanta’s Biggest Film Festivals

ATLANTA, Georgia (July 23, 2020) Director Chyna Robinson is proud to announce her film, No Ordinary Love, has made the cut and will be among those showcased at the highly anticipated 11th annual BronzeLens Film Festival (August 11 – 16, 2020) As one of only three American Feature Narrative films selected into the annual festival, this coveted spot proves to be a big win for the award-winning independent film.

When asked about participating in BronzeLens, Chyna Robinson said, “I am thrilled and honored that my work was chosen for such a prestigious festival, and the entire team is excited to be a part of the growing film scene of Atlanta.”

Called “Chilling” by CW Orlando, No Ordinary Love is a romantic thriller that follows the lives of two female protagonists who plot a potentially deadly escape from their manipulative partners. The themes of the film have resonated with filmgoers and festival juries alike with an impressive award-winning showing across the festival circuit including: Audience Choice Awards, Indie Memphis (2019); Worldwide Women’s Film Festival (2020); Best Feature Film, National Black Film Festival (2020); Best Edit, International Film Festival, Nice (France, 2020) and several others for screenwriting, editing, and acting.

Leading the film as both screenwriter and director, Chyna Robinson has set her sights on expanding both the voice and representation in the world of filmmaking. As a young, Black, female director showcasing her work in festivals around the world and now in Atlanta, her work is helping to shape the next generation of powerful voices in film. In addition to Chyna’s role as the film’s auteur, she made it a priority to assemble a creative team that includes women and people of color in numerous key roles for production including the project’s producer, executive producer, director of photography, editor, and 1st AD.

“I think when you look at the fact that last year, out of the 100 top-grossing films, women only represented 12% of the directors and even less were Black women, that says a lot. We have certainly come a long way, but we still have so far to go,” said Robinson.

No Ordinary Love is scheduled to screen as part of the 11th annual and first-ever virtual BronzeLens Film Festival. Screening times and tickets available for purchase at https://bronzelens.com/schedule/
