Melody Shari, business extraordinaire and star of OWN’s #1 hit reality TV show Love & Marriage: Huntsville, is hosting her 4th Annual Mimosas with Melody event at the Biltmore Ballrooms, 817 West Peachtree Street NW in Atlanta on Saturday, March 30th at 6 pm.
This year’s event, themed “A Time for Change,” will be a special edition of the perennially popular women’s empowerment and business gathering. The black tie affair will feature a fundraiser for lawyer, actor and political candidate Hill Harper, who is running for U.S. Senate, as well as a women’s and men’s panel. Among special guests are actress and model Claudia Jordan, businesswoman Courtney Adeleye, actress and singer Drew Sidora, businesswoman Dr. Chanita Foster, actor Darrin Henson, music executive Devyne Stephens, celebrity stylist J. Bolin, celebrity publicist Ivan Thomas, and other community and business leaders.
Discussion topics will center on how to improve unity within the Black community, education, entrepreneurship, and leveraging the power of the Black dollar, and other issues.
“I am very excited to host my fourth ‘Melody with Mimosas’ event. It is typically about inspiring women, but this time I believe it’s time to inspire our entire race,” Melody Shari said. “My good friend Hill is running for the U.S. Senate, so this year I have made it a co-ed event which will include our first ever men’s panel. It’s all about like-minded people coming together to show support and unity.”

Harper is in the midst of a daunting Democratic primary race for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat against rival and front-runner Elissa Slotkin. The acclaimed actor (The Good Doctor, and CSI: NY), author, philanthropist, and Harvard Law School classmate of President Barack Obama is on a mission to help “fix America’s broken system” by addressing labor and the middle class. Melody Shari is extending her support, while also creating a space for attendees to benefit from impactful dialogue between influencers and community leaders.
“He has genuine care and love for our people,” she said. “We have seen him advocate on the ground for the Flint Water Crisis, and everything else, from adopting a son, having a long-lasting career in media and entertainment, and really just being a positive role model and example for Black people for a long time.”
